To combat morning sickness this time, I have tried many remedies. As I still haven't fully recovered from a small cold, which had went uncontrollably destructive to me because of the pregnancy, I now have to avoid sugar and possibly all kinds of sweeteners. It is difficult, as the tastebuds have gone crazy because of pregnancy, I do crave sweet taste. However, the consequences are dear.
A few days ago, I happened to try some ginger ale in a mountain-top cafe and was immediately thrilled at the taste. Commodified ginger ale often comes with sugar; therefore, I decided to make it by myself. After some search for sugar free ginger ale, I laid my hands on one recipe which substitutes sugar with date nuts (紅棗).
If I were my normal self, maybe I would not appreciate the taste that much. But now, the strong and spicy flavor of ginger is just right, let alone the fact that ginger is highly recommended to women in the early stage of pregnancy.
Hopefully, my body will appreciate and tolerate the drink as long as I wish.
