T's Reading Log V

We read this book last year. It was a very funny story about Mr Daruma's encounter with Miss Matryoshka on a snowy night.

Apparently T was certainly too young to understand the story, and I have decided that when he is old enough to laugh with us, I will borrow it again!

PS. Apart from the innocent fun that this picture book provides, I cannot help thinking that there can be a xenophobic reading of the story especially in the current social context of migrant issues in Japan: when a traditional Japanese man comes across a prolific migrant Matryoshka from Russia on his own land.
